(La Rochelle)- After a bumpy arrival with challenging logistics, Falcons beat the Admirals and the CBLE All Stars managed to beat the French National Team 11-9.
Bombers watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 7-3 loss to Admirals on Wednesday. Admirals scored on a single by Hendershot and a walk by Gould in the first inning.
Admirals Loses Lead Early In Defeat
Admirals watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in an 8-3 loss to Falcons on Friday. Falcons scored on a double by Janssen and a single by Ellis in the second inning.
Admirals lost despite out-hitting Falcons ten to eight.
Admirals took an early lead in the first inning. Hendershot singled on the first pitch of the at bat in the first inning, scoring one run.
Falcons took the lead for good with two runs in the second inning. In the second Janssen doubled off of Scheer, driving in one run and Ellis singled off of Scheer, driving in one run.
Falcons scored three runs in the fifth inning. Falcons’s big inning was driven by a double by Bailey.
Burleson earned the win for Falcons. He tossed four innings, surrendering two runs, six hits, striking out one, and walking zero. Bailey recorded the last nine outs to earn the save for Falcons. Scheer took the loss for Admirals. He threw four and a third innings, giving up five runs, six hits, and striking out five.
Admirals had ten hits in the game. Rosenbohm, Rudolph, and Bodin each collected multiple hits for Admirals. Rudolph and Hendershot each drove in one run to lead Admirals.
Falcons collected eight hits. Cummings, Gentry, and Ellis each collected multiple hits for Falcons.
Starting pitcher for France was Esteban Prioul who was with the Caveliers last year. The CBLE All Stars scored 5 in the 2nd, 1 in the 3rd and 2 in the 4th to take a 8-1 leadbut the Franch came back and even took the lead in the sixth. Going in to the final inning, the French were still ahead 9-8 but the CBLE All Stars scored 3 in the 7th and kept the French from scoring and win the game by 11-9.
