Falcons and Admirals win first Play-Off games

(Oosterhout)- The Falcons beat the Bombers on Monday which gave them a 1,5 game lead over the Admirals  to clinch the No.1 seed for the Play-Offs.  On Tuesday the Falcons beat the Cavaliers (4) to move on to the winners bracket and the Admirals (2) beat the Bombers in a very good game.

Five RBI Day For Cummings Leads Falcons Past Cavaliers Falcons defeated Cavaliers 9-1 on Tuesday thanks in part to Cummings, who drove in five runners. Cummings drove in runs on a single in the first, a single in the third, and a single in the fifth. Cavaliers captured the lead in the first inning. Cavaliers scored one run when Lewis doubled with one out in the first inning. In the bottom of the first inning, Falcons tied things up at one. With two outs in the first inning Cummings drove in one run when he singled. Falcons took the lead for good with three runs in the third inning. In the third Cummings singled off of Joossens, driving in two runs. Falcons scored three runs in the fifth inning. The big inning was thanks to a walk by Thrasher and a single by Cummings. Burleson earned the win for Falcons. He tossed seven innings, giving up one run, six hits, and striking out six. Joossens took the loss for Cavaliers. He threw three and a third innings, allowing six runs, seven hits, and striking out three. Falcons collected ten hits. Cummings and Ellis each collected multiple hits for Falcons. Ellis and Cummings. Falcons was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Janssen had the most chances in the field with six.

Castellano Throws Shutout As Admirals Defeats Bombers Castellano didn’t allow a single run as Admirals defeated Bombers 3-0 on Tuesday. Castellano allowed just seven hits and induced a fly out from Fischer to end the game. Admirals didn’t take the lead until later in the game. An error scored one run for Admirals. A single by Fischer in the first inning was a positive for Bombers. Castellano earned the win for Admirals. He pitched seven innings, giving up zero runs, seven hits, and striking out three. Jones took the loss for Bombers. He went six innings, giving up three runs, eight hits, striking out five, and walking zero. Castellano and Shotton each drove in one run to lead Admirals.
